Other commercial alloys

The alloys are created by forming very fine coherent Al3(Sc, Zr) particles in an aluminum matrix, which can effectively prevent the growth of grains during casting, extrusion, hot forging, welding, and heat treatment processes, thereby maintaining the fibrous or fine equiaxial grain structure and offering high toughness, high strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and a fine anodizing finish. Hodaka currently supplies three types of aluminum alloys containing scandium, including weldable M6 and M7 series, and difficult to weld, ultra-high strength, high-toughness M9 series. That meets the needs of customers for all types of applications and processes.


2000 series (Al-Cu)

The 2xxx series is characterized with large Cu content and high strength, suitable for structural material.  It exhibits high strength under both room temperature and high temperatures. Mainly used for aerospace, vehicles, and fasteners. 
Typical alloys: 2014, 2017, 2024, 2618, 2219, 2195 and high-toughness, high-purity alloys 2124, 2324, 2117, 2419. 

3000 series (Al-Mn) 

Offer excellent formability, corrosion resistance, and weldability; moderate strength.. 
Chiefly used in heat exchangers, aluminum bottles, cooking equipment, and building materials, etc. 
Typical alloys: 3003, 3004, 3005.


 5000 series (Al-Mg)

Work-hardenable alloys with excellent corrosion-resistance, toughness, and weldability with moderate strength. Mainly used in 3C product cases, construction, auto, freezer, and marine applications. 
Typical alloys: 5052, 5083, 5754.
